Two questions in one :)

Hi guys , two quick (and probably very easy) questions for you.

1. I have the the temp sensor that looks like it bolts into the front of the engine right next to the EGR. (Its a 1.6 2002 Golf) I'm having a hard time finding one that will replace it. Is it just a case of unbolting it and bolting in the new one?

2. The fuel filter, is there a technique to undo the connections without damaging them?

Im tackling these tomorrow and would rather ask for tips now then ask for how to fix them later :)
