Vw Touran 2012 - Bonnet Stuck Cable Inoperable

Hi all,

I wonder if you anyone can please advise me on how to open my bonnet on my VW Touran. The Bonnet failed to open and i investigated further by stripping out the internal pull to find that the cable was intact. My next task was to loacted the cable that i have found runs across the top of the OSF headlight. I removed the under tray and located the wire. I then noticed that the cable had come adrift at the bonnect catch end.

I am really struggling to get in to the bonnet and I was wondering if anyone has ever encountered this issue. I have taken some pictures of a touran from the local dealership so I can try and work out what has gone on. (enclosed)

I beleive that my only options is to start stripping out the grill and trying to un-latch it from that way. I have removed the VW badge and cover and i am faced with a couple of holes that go nowhere. I have some bolts at the top that i cannot get to they are secured and the torx screw is on the inside of the bonnet- any thoughts or guidance would be greatly appreciated.
