dont like the rain .
Hi . this is my first time doing any thing like this so sorry for any errors that creep in . I purchased an audi a6 2.6ltr estate car about three weeks ago . All was fine apart from a few creeks and groans from the front end some where . On tuesday this week it had been raining sisnce early hours and when i started the car that sounds funny i thought . any way it was a bit rough may be a bit damp i thought but no . when attempting to drive it was like half the engine was starting and stopping the rev would drop by half what they should have benn and the result was like nasty kangeroo jumping . apart from this everything was normal ( exept for the rev counter which was going up and down the the engine revs ) . I am wondering if the damp has gotten in to the coil pack ? . how ever even after warming up the car was the same . so left it . On returninn early evening after work it started ok . Any one any thoughts . Other than this its is a lovely car to drive . also does any one know if this 1994 a6 came with a remote for locking . regards william young :1zhelp:

Re: dont like the rain .
Don't know the engine or car at all but I guess it has the long reach plug connectors (I assume it is not a diesel). First thing I would do is take them off the plugs and check for signs of damp. For good measure squirt a WD40 type product down the hole onto the plug and the same on the long reach connector.
I had a similar problem with my OH's MX5. It was over a day after the soaking and you would of thought heat would dry it out. The car nis-fired popped, banged and was dangerous to drive the misfire was so bad. I also took apart every elec. connection under the bonnet I could see and squirted WD40 on them.
Good luck
