New work horse....
Hi,
In November I purchased a 2006 VW Passat Sport 2.0TDI Estate, 1 owner, 58k on the clock.
Am very happy with it and have all ready started with a few mods.
All internal and Side lights changed to LEDs so far, wind deflectors and boot liner added
I have the parts needed for adding cruise and am waiting for garage to open in the new year to get them fitted and programmed in.
Arriving today I've got an Auto Pumpkin Android head unit to replace the standard CD\Radio.
Pumpkin 8 Inch Quad Core 1.6GHz Android 4.4 Head Unit for VW Jetta/Golf/Seat Series/Skoda Series Double Din In Dash HD Touch Screen Car DVD Player GPS Navigation Stereo Support Bluetooth/SD/USB/iPod/Subwoofer/FM/AM Radio/OBD2/DVR/3G/AV-IN/1080P Multimedia System: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics
Couple of pics below, second one is with my brothers Passat CC

Re: New work horse....
Has the most important modification been done to prevent the engine from seizing and a goosed turbo ?

77mm oil pump drive .
Soooo much info on the net now , this must be common knowledge by now....

Re: New work horse....
No, Oil Pump! They are renowned for failing and killing the 2.0TDi's (in short) there's obviously more to it than that but that's the basics of it.

Re: New work horse....
No I'd not heard of this, must have missed it when doing my research. I'm new to VAG...
I've been looking at the posts on the site. Mine is a 56 plate with VIN ...3CZ7E060779
From reading the post the only way to check it is to remove the sump and take a look? am i correct?
Is it worth me getting a 100mm shaft to replace the 70mm one while I'm in there?
Thanks Nick
