iPhone 6 MMI Cable
Hi,
anybody with experience with this pls?
http://i1227.photobucket.com/albums/...psqjhdyf84.jpg
doesn't work for me (checked with my iPhone 6 and mrs's iphone 5), when i hook it up it lists a new usb device in disabled mode, phone starts charging, but doesn't allow access to media on the device.
i have an old iPhone cable as well, which works with a 4S and an iPod Nano, where i can access media.

That's odd, there are loads of cables with different coloured collars. You may need a different collared cable for your phone

Interesting - what does the colour of the collar denote?

Think it's something to do with it showing the album art and or playing video as well.

Re: iPhone 6 MMI Cable
I have the same cable (green end) and it works (for audio only).
I have a 2014 A7.
Yesterday, I was wanting to see whether I could play music and video off my iPhone 6 through the MMI via cable, found this same cable in the glovebox, plugged it in and it didn't connect at first but that was because I had a case on the phone so the small adaptor wouldn't go in far enough. Took off the case, plugged it in and it was recognised in the MMI and played music.
This cable doesn't play video and searching the internet and youtube yesterday it looks like you need a different connecting cable to plug into the car with video component cables and then a series of other cables which eventually allow you to mirror your iphone onto the MMI screen which looks great. Can anybody recommend exactly what you need to purchase to do this.
What did work was transferring my music vids onto SD card so I could watch and listen on the screen - great.
Try your cable again and see if it works?

iPhone 6 MMI Cable
Thx, I tried it a couple of times already that said will try it again.
It could be a cable fault, from what I know the apple lightning adopter is not just a cable it's got a chip inside (imagine it works either side up, just 4 connections on either side).
Will check again, failing which, will talk to the dealer tomorrow whether he can swap the cable.
