Electric drivers seat won't lift or recline
Hi,
The drivers seat on my A4 Cab won't move up or down and won;t recline, it does slide forwards and backwards fortunately.
I can hear the relay click when I move the switch but it doesn't do anything. Due to this I suspect its motor related either dodgy connector or the motor knackered. (that's assuming that it is the same motor that raises and reclines)
Can anyone help me with how to access the motor or if they have any other idea to try please?

No, it's two different motors and two different switches but same power supply & earth. On the seat adjuster switch there is a 4 pin connector with 2 red & 2 brown wires. Make sure both reds have 12V and both browns are good earths.
If the supply & earths to the switch are OK, you can do a bypass test (bypassing the switch) to see if the motors are able to move the seat. If the seat moves then the switch must be faulty.
Jim.

Thanks, I'm hoping that the fact its two different motors is good news as the chances of both being faulty is pretty remote
I'll give it a go later today and feedback
