My Gamma V radio asks for code every time I use it
Hi
So I bought a second hand Gamma V radio for my Polo 6n to replace the aftermarket stereo (which was playing up). I wired it in using the connectors in the car (removing the aftermarket adapters) and it seems to work OK, but every time I start up the car I have to enter the code. Could this be because I have wired it incorrectly? I understand some connections need 12V constant from the battery and some need ignition-only 12V. I'm afraid of doing this wrong and draining my battery by connecting the radio to the battery all the time.
If anyone could tell me if this is the problem, and if so, which wires go where, that would be amazing. I have searched around, but can't find anyone with my specific problem.
Thanks

Welcome to VWAF :)
Does it retain any saved presets?

I can't check right now, but I don't think it does. I might be wrong, though, so I'll double check when I get a chance and edit this reply if it does save presets.
Cheers

So it turns out that the stations were being stored. I did some reading and swapped a couple of cables round and now it seems to be working great.

Sorry for the crappy image. I wired 'KL30' and 'SAFE' to the 12V permanent (red wire) and 'S' to the 12v ignition. Does that sound ok?

Looks like your reading was correct.
SAFE (5) and KL30 (7) should be permanent live and S (4) is ignition on.
