Got her
Hi Guys
After hearing nothing back from management, I decided to call them on Monday to find out what was going on with my car.
The manager was very disappointed that no-one had been in touch as the car was ready to be collected after the 'engine software update' last Wednesday, and was very apologetic. So I dropped off the donor car (A5), and went to pick up my car yesterday. I sat down with the manager and he re-iterated his disappointment with no-one getting in touch and for letting me down. As compensation and goodwill gesture he has given me 2 free services, and also will reimburse me for up to £500 on anything I buy (Hmm need a new I pad!) ... Can't get fairer than that I'd say!
So back to my car ... All I can say is ... WOW!! It's a stunner ... That drive home was the best drive ever! The amount of people turning their heads and looking made me (more so my car!) feel like a mini celebrity :notworthy
I will most definitely get some pics up for you guys, and for those that are waiting for their new A6's ... It will be worth the wait guys!
I've got 5 days Audi insurance, so now hopefully can find a good car insurance firm who won't quote me a mammoth total!! Feel free to let me know of any car insurance companies worth considering ... Cheers!
Oh and Gap .... !!!

Re: Got her !!
Well done!!
Don't expect any low quotes, as when I lived in Loughton, Ilford had the highest premiums in Essex. :(

Re: Got her !!
Tell me about it!! I'm in Romford and some of the quotes have been ££££!!!
Luckily there were a few who were more reasonable and best one recieved was around the £500 mark ... Big drop from the £3500 one I got elsewehere!!
Am I right in thinking that all insurers have GAP included for the first year and then the GAP companies take over the reamaining 3-4 years?
Is GAP a must have?

Re: Got her
No, insurers will generally replace your car if it's written off in the first 12 months of ownership. GAP is a separate product which in most products will 'return to invoice' value. In other words will help you get back /top up any difference between any insurance payout and your purchase price. Hth

Re: Got her
Cheers for that St3veM
So to be on the 'safe side' it's best to get GAP, owing to it being a brand new car etc
Will take a look at the main GAP companies and see what they quote!

Re: Got her !!
Not all insurers do new for old in the first year but most do. GAP offers piece of mind for the following years especially if you have the car on finance. Look for a Return to Invoice policy rather than simply one that makes up the difference between the insurance settlement and the finance settlement. Also not all GAP policies (including the one pushed by Audi) offer first year deferral. I have used the Gapinsurance123 policy which gives RTI and first year deferral for a competitive price (significantly less than half what Audi wanted) and you can also transfer it if you change car before the term is up. All that said I have never made a claim so cannot say how good they are in that situation but reviews suggest they are not a problem

Re: Got her
I would say it's a good idea, small piece of mind for the safety net it provides. Got mine through my insurance broker as was a good price and transferable. Ta
