car has died
Hello again,, has some of you know my 2007 Passat with 180k on the clock has had some rough running issues and rough idle with really bad mpg ( down to 29mpg on a run) , story so far , faults were recorderd on injectors 1 & 3,, replaced loom with no difference with running,, I sourced new siemens injectors and new seals,, the car actually stopped running yesterday and was recovered by green flag to my local mechanic who is going to change injectors this week. question I have is vw did a recall and changed all injectors and loom with the new uprated siemens ones at 95k ( or so I was told) why would the new injectors fail if they are the new ones ???,, i will see if they did actually change them when the old ones come out, If they didn't then watchdog will be given a call.:biglaugh:

Re: car has died
If the injector recall has been done then have you any paperwork to verify?
If not see whether there's a sticker in your wheel well to show.
Not diesel here but AFAICR it's code 23H9 affecting engine codes: BKP, BMA, BWV, BVE, BKP, BVE, BMA, BWV, BMR, and BUZ; Golf 5 2006-2009 and Touran 2006-2010 with the BMN engine. The TPI is 2027647
Who told you the recall had been done?
There also should be a record with VWUK that the recall's been completed. AFAIK main dealers can access this record too
If no to all the above then you're due a free one!
Mebe worth posting your Autoscan here to show all stored error codes?
Then clear them all and see what comes back

Re: car has died
thanks for reply, we have had the car from new and the recall was done 3 years ago, according to my papaerwork it says, injectors and loom replaced/checked and they hadn't put a cross through which one they did,, but when I picked the car up the chap said after I asked what was done, he said yes all checked and all ok so I assumed that they had checked injectors realised they were the ok ones and that was that. After having this injector problem I got in touch with VW who told me that according to there records all injectors and loom were replaced by the vw garage because they have the order codes and part numbers ordered.
