Seem to have water trapped in door seal on cabriolet
Hi, I seem to have water trapped in my front door seal, there are drain holes at the front and back of seal but no water comes out when I squeeze my fingers along the seal, I even tried a bit of tube up the holes in case they were collapsing, it's as if there are 2 channels inside,
does anyone know how to remove the water without cutting the seal???

Hi,
I had this, your problem is no in the door seal per say it is the box girder below it. If you brake suddenly can you hear a "sloshing"?
I tried all the door seal investigations but to no avail (removed seal etc etc).
If so then it is the same issue I had. To resolve (now this is from memory) you need to lift the car up, and go underneath. remove/loosen the underbody panelling that runs underneath the door (plastic easy to remove).
The next bit is the difficult bit - the bit of trim at the end of the sill that "wraps" around the frame etc - under this there is a rubber bung (as far as I remember) - on mine the plastic cracked which was not great. Remove the rubber bung and then lift the rear of the car higher than the front so the water trapped in side will come to the front.
I still to this day have no idea how the water got in there. But it has not returned (approx. 2 years later I think).
Hope this helps,
W.
