Glove box CD changer - Audi A6 2008, S Line

I have a faulty CD changer in my glove box - the screen display just says 'initialising..." The CD unit has power, but cannot eject the changer cartridge or play any CD's. I suspect the unit is broken and will need replacing.

Can anyone suggest any ideas and most affordable option to source a CD changer and confirm if a code is needed if the unit is replaced and where would I obtain the code from?

you need to remove it and see the part number and buy a like for like unit. you will then need to visit audi or a specialist who can remove component protection when the replacement unit is installed as it will not function correctly until its removed.

Thanks Chris. Do you know removing the component protection code is an expensive/long job?
