central locking issue

Hi all,

Went to change the drivers door lock on my mothers golf today. Manage to get it fully changed over and when I plugged it in it made its usual buzzing noise so thought it was all fine. Put the door back to gether again but the central locking wont work when using the key in the drivers door (no remote locking, its the base model). Itl open the drivers door with no noise coming. Went to the passanger door and the central locking is working on that side for all doors (bar the other one which will need changing soon).

Iv checked all of the fuses and they seem fine, none blowen. Its a newish model, came out of my old leon and it was working perfectly on that so have no idea whats going on with it. Anyone have any ideas?

Also with the other one that needs changing, its a rear door that has completely failed so the door stays locked the whole time. Is there a way to boot it out without braking anything or causing minimal damage anyway?
