Manifold runner fix

Hi

I have an engine fault on a 2.0tdi b8 with engine code caga.

It is an invalid manifold runner signal on bank 1 according to the local dealer. Am awaiting delivery of vcds tomorrow to confirm exact code. Dealer wants a £1000 to replace the complete manifold assembly. I have come across a lot of fixes on the net for a similar fault but it is for the audi 3.0tdi. Does anybody know if the fix is transferable between models? There doesn't seem to much about this on the b8 threads.

Ps. The fixes are generally related to a loose connecter between actuator motor and the flaps.
