My 99 Golf GTi 1.8T came back from its MOT recently with a advisory note saying it emits excessive blue smoke on tick over ?
I've noticed this too a couple of times but it seems to just disappear ?
It seems fine on start up and acceleration ?

Blue smoke is too much oil being burnt. The most common cause is valve stem seals ;0)
