it only has one. The other bulb is there for different countries/configurations.
Yep,i know that,but my drive is long and narrow and two lamps would help a lot,i was hoping to run a single wire fron one to the other,just want to know if i would be doing any damage at all.

Modern canbus cars are very sensitive to any additional wiring, I wouldn't touch it. Maybe consider investing in a led reversing bulb instead.

I did this on my insignia and it worked a treat. Just ran a wire from one to the other.

An Insignia isn't a VW though!
Is the bulb on the opposite side not for the rear fog lamp?
Anyway, as Chris says, modern cars are a bit sensitive to additional load on the lighting circuits. That's why you need to install a bypass relay when you fit a towbar.

Just do it and see if all is ok. If not disconnect it
