Steering wheel buttons

Does anyone know if there is an upgrade that can be made to the buttons on a 12 plate (facelift) A5? Basically she wants to be able to change the music track from the steering wheel like I can on the A7 but there isn't a button on hers. There is however, what appears to be a blanking button on the left so wondering if a new button can be installed to get the tracks to change?

I can put up some pics if my waffle isn't very clear?

Im sure on the loan A6 i had you could customize what the buttons did.

You can only configure the * button I think, A4/5 steering wheels are different to A6/7 wheels.

Well it was nearly two years ago lol.

Thanks for the replies. On the A6 and A7 you can configure one of the buttons to do what you want but it's different in the A5.

She can use the scroll wheel but doesn't like it and would prefer a push button instead of having to look down at the next track etc.

She has the layout of the buttons above and I think as there is the blanking panel another button option must be out there?

Could you not just fit a steering wheel from a A6/7 onto it? Might be more info on A5OC.

That's what she was hoping for but not sure if it would work?

You have to use the scroll function for track changes, although etka image shows a left/right button, its not available on the A5 upto the 2015 chassis, A7 uses 4G0 buttons & A5 uses 4L0.

As for cross using, unless steering module allows this, then I doubt it would interpret the bus signals correctly, as per my experiments with these new wheels on the older chassis, but I'm open to further experimentation, but mine has shown incompatibility for the A7 style button arrays on other chassis thus far.
