Loss of power
Hi
I have searched this forum but I have not found info on my exact fault.
2005 2.0 TDi BLB engine (with Audis massively expensive oil pump conversion inc new turbo approx. 8,000s mile ago) Current mileage 143,000
Last service inc all filters 6 months/4,000s ago.
My wife used the car on Friday with no issues, today I drove it a few miles and noticed it was very lumpy/jerky under acceleration. It ticks over perfect, the temp gauge is dead on 90 and I have no warning lights.
I have taken it for a longer run and its perfect until I put my foot hard down, once up the rev range it dies, if I keep my foot down it just splutters. Now that I am home, it's the same no warning lights, no temp issues and ticks over great, right up to 3 k revs
I would suspect it needs a new fuel filter as it has the symptoms or fuel starvation, but its only done 4K since it was changer (Fram part)
I do not know if he car has had a recall in the past for the injectors.
Any thought or suggestions welcome
Ian

Re: Loss of power
I had similar issue, turned out to be the EGR. Found that the gate on the end of the spindle had snapped off, so the spindle still worked, hence no fault warning. On that occasion I had the EGR replaced - expensive, and that was after it was misdiagnosed as the turbo! I have since had the EGR deleted from the ECU and used blanking plates. Have a look at my threat 'operation phoenix' if you want all the details of why.

Re: Loss of power
Thanks for comments people, car fixed = new fuel filter with injector cleaner put directly in it and some in the tank, followed by a quick thrash.
