Central locking and electrical issue
Hi
I have a 2008 Audi a4 avant. I have had it since new, everything was working well until last summer. The rear near side passenger door began sticking and would not open on the button. Now the only way of opening the door is from the inside. I can hear the door mechanism working but it will not open.
The second issue is I was driving along the road and all of a sudden the electronic handbrake malfunction warning light came on followed by the tyre pressure and then several other light came on. The external temperature started to rise rapidly on the display without any real change in the outside temperature.
Anyway to cut a long story short I took it to Audi who had it for three days and they diagnosed an airbag ecu and charged me quite a lot of cash to replace. My concern is that they weren't really sure what the fault was and following the replacement of the ecu I was old hat they had never known the item to fail previously.
Have I been had over by the local dealership and do I have any redress with Audi uk?
Any help appreciated!

I'm not really sure what your asking? Has fitting the ecu sorted your problem?

sorry not clear in my OP. the ecu issue resolved the warning light malfunction but my concern is that apparently the ecu does not fail? In addition a couple of weeks before A large branch fell from a tree while I was passing and hit the front of the car at 20 a 30mph air bag did not deploy however the electronic fault developed soon after.
With regards to the door locking issue this is separate matter.
Thanks
