New member looking for Bluetooth retrofit advice
Hi all,
Bit of a noob to the Audi scene as I've been into tuned Jap cars for the past decade so sorry for any posts that seem like obvious info.
I've just purchased my first big boys car now that old age is setting in, it's a 2008 A4 SE but it didn't come with Bluetooth integration or iPod link. I did search for a while but all the cars of this year seem to be the same??
Anyway, after a bit of searching it seems that my car has the concert 3 system with the media button and Aux port (terrible sound quality through it) so the X carlink seems to be the best option. http://www.xcarlink.co.uk/product.ph...1&cat=4&page=1
My question is, has anybody actually used this system? Is it reliable? or is there a better option that is better known within the community out there? I've seen the Fiscon unit but it looks much the same as the above.
Also can anyone recommend some good sites for retrofit info as I like to play when it comes to mods but like I said, I'm new to this scene and there seems to be hundreds of Audi forums!
Thanks in advance for your help...:D
this is the little beauty I just purchased:

73 reads and not so much as a hello? Where's the love people? :1zhelp:
It's a good job I've got a whole forums worth of info to read or else I might feel quite unwelcome...:biglaugh:

Don't worry, were all here now! It's just on a Saturday there is a bit less forum-traffic compared to a weekday.
I haven't had experience of the Viseeo kit, but I do have of the Fiscon.
It worked well in my A3, connected everytime and surprisingly easy to install, it has bluetooth audio streaming too but I found the quality to be poor.
Calls were clear and the whole system was easy to use.
It's significantly cheaper than the Viseoo too.
I did swap out my Fiscon for the OEM bluetooth but I got the OEM kit cheap and sold the Fiscon for a profit so had to grab the chance.
FISCON Bluetooth Handsfree
The car looks very nice indeed, any other mods planned?

thanks for the reply, was beginning to think I was talking to myself (not for the first time I might add)
i plan on doing the LED DRL swap next although I may just go for it and swap in the Exenons if I can source a pair for sensible money and its not too much of a ball ache to do.
i fancy retro fitting the footwell lights as well as that looks like a nice little mod.
my main focus for now is to sort the AMI functionality and Bluetooth connection although it seems that good solid info is hard to come by for retro fit ideas so I may be making some how to guides!
i guess the first step will be to purchase the VCDS. I take it you just buy direct from Ross Sport, or is there a reliable UK supplier?
If you haven't guessed, I'm a bit of a modifying addict so no doubt this is only the beginning...:beerchug:

Xenons are sorta hard, to be legal you need headlamp washer jets and self levellers so the costs can soon add up.
Most people fit a good quality set of bulbs, Philips Xtreme Vision or Osram Nightbreaker Plus which are still legal but output better light.
The Fiscon is good for starters but if you ever get bitten by the retrofit bug then theres always the OEM Bluetooth and Audi Music Interface to fit too which I have done on my A3.
Rosstech have official distributors throughout the world, I bought mine from Gendan http://www.gendan.co.uk/product_VCHU.html and they were top notch in terms of delivery and comms.

I'd love to go the OEM route but it's finding out the parts I need for the install and then the programming codes for the VDFC I'm struggling with. There doesn't seem to be much definitive info on the A4 B8 so I need to make sure I'm gathering the right bits.
