Cheapest way to connect an AUX or iPhone connection
As the title says guys.
I have a 2006 Audi A4 2.0T S Line with a RNS-E and CD changer.
I'm not bothered if the connector charges or not, if AUX is cheaper then i'd go for that. I saw a few on ebay that are only a couple of quid!! But they say the unit MUST have a AUX option, my one doesn't.
Surely if the RNS-E that came with the car had an AUX option, it would mean that there is an AUX port in the car somewhere right, and you wont even need these third party connectors... right? Unless i'm missing something?

Follow this rnseauxin - Audi Retrofit
I don't think speccing the RNSE made AUX a standard fit but look under the armrest or in it or around that area.
Also if you press CD/TV (or MEDIA) under Source there should be an AUX input.
Re: Cheapest way to connect an AUX or iPhone connection
As above, I have retrofitted the AUX in cable. One thing to note, however, is that the impedance isn't matched between the AUX in and a headphone out. This results in a fairly quiet playback. Turning up the volume works fine until the satnav voice kicks in and deafens you ;-)

Dension 100. Great bit of kit if you've got an iPhone too!
Re: Cheapest way to connect an AUX or iPhone connection
I doubt my unit has an aux option, when i press the cd/tv button it cycles through cd changer and sd cards. I dont have any media button. This is my unit, i made this for a shuffle issue i used to have

I'll definitely check properly tomorrow.

Thanks, but they are probably a bit pricey, im looking for a cheap fix ;). Not looking to keep the car long term.
Re: Cheapest way to connect an AUX or iPhone connection
if you do the above retrofit you will need vcds to enable the auxin function.
on your video, when you press mix, hit return and then press the forward button and see what happens

Ive actually fixed the shuffle problem with a software update, is there a way to have an aux connection without using vcds?
Re: Cheapest way to connect an AUX or iPhone connection
Nope - if you have a look at the map in my signature there are a few users with VCDS who could help you out.

So just to confirm, if I enable the Aux feature on my RNS-E, then I can connect cheap connectors such as
Audi A2 A3 A4 TT aux input 3.5mm jack lead car radio iPod MP3 adapter CT29AU04 | eBay
Audi A2 A3 A4 A6 A8 TT AUX interface adapter car stereo iPod Concert Symphony | eBay
Do you know if my unit has a quadlock connection?
