2010 Caddy TDI fuel tank removal
Hello all, been a while since I've been to this site (used to be Wacky77 but can't seem to log in with that now) and have an issue with a caddy in which I'd like to remove the tank and inspect it/ swill it out.
The tank itself looks reasonably easy to remove IF the filler neck is detachable from the tank. Has anyone removed the tank from one of these that can tell me if the filler neck is detachable or part of the tank?
Thanks-Steve

looks like I'm on my own on this one, I'll post some instructions once I've done it.....
Re: 2010 Caddy TDI fuel tank removal
Just done this exact same job to check the fuel pump. The filler neck is indeed part of the tank and not removable unless complete with the tank, simply remove the n/s rear wheel and then the wheel arch plastic guard, then unclick the surround around the filler neck from the bottom first, this gives access to the two 10mm bolts holding the neck. Then support the tank whilst unbolting the tank straps, lower the tank slightly to get access to the sender connector and the feed and return pipes, once they are clear simply lower the tank nearside first to allow the filler neck to clear the wheel arch, then gently ease over the spring at its lowest point and bosh...she is out, lot easier with tank empty so if you empty it first that would be a big help....didn't have that luxury as my van wont run the pump for some reason even though tested and worked fine with power to it.....anyways hope this helps.....cheers. Thanks for that mate but I've already done it, i found it easier with the nearside shocker and anti roll bar link disconnected as the axle drops lower making it a bit easier to thread the filler neck into position. I also took the exhaust and heat shield off so the fuel lines could drop with the tank, disconnecting them at the connections under the footwell as theyre much easier to get to than at the pump, especially when a half full tank is precariously balancing on a jack lol.Thanks-steve
