HELP! Non starter at Sandbach
So I'm at Sanbach on the m6 with a car that won't start, won't turn over nothing! Just before it happened I was cruising happily, I put the window down and the abs and tc lights flashed then occasionally the stop light. Radio started cutting out. Pulled on to services, tried the turn it on and off trick, then nothing. Had laptop so scanned only fault codes were low voltage on several modules. Alternator possibly?
Re: HELP! Non starter at Sandbach
Flat battery. Try a boost start.
I wish I could tpye...
Re: HELP! Non starter at Sandbach
Don't have the required bits sadly, so RAC are on the way.
Re: HELP! Non starter at Sandbach
Have you checked your battery connections?
If so then a cell may have gone down in your battery, or it's not getting charge from the alternator.
Those are my guesses anyway.
Re: HELP! Non starter at Sandbach
I have but they are solid, a bit gungey but connected, I have a multimeter but don't know which bit to have it on to check, the battery does have something in it, but whether it is enough I don't know.
Re: HELP! Non starter at Sandbach
turn your lights on. are they nice and bright, if so, good battery. really dim , bad battery.

Electric windows are also a good indicator.
Re: HELP! Non starter at Sandbach
Windows, locks and lights all work, but windows are a bit slower. Lights are dim, can't manage full beam without dash fading!
Re: HELP! Non starter at Sandbach
then your battery is flat and that is why you have problems. either battery died or alternator failed. do you still have a belt driving your alternator ?
Re: HELP! Non starter at Sandbach
It's the alternator pulley that's knackered, getting towed to a garage to get fixed tomorrow, bugger!
