MP3 connection?
Hi
I've bought an 2004 A6 TDI 2.5 CVT SE. It's such a nice car it just munch mile like there is no tomorrow.
The only downside is the economy which at 35mpg could be a bit better specially when doing mostly motorway.
Today's post is about MP3 players and the best way to connect one of them.
I have a simple MP3 player not the i-pod thing.
Can it be easily connected to the sound system? I don't use the tape player so could it be connected instead of it?.
Do I need to send it to a "professional" to install an aux input? Can someone recommend a someone in Uxbridge or Oxford?
Thanks for your help

Re: MP3 connection?
Hi Jack,
Faced with the same problem (creative labs MP3 player) I used a different approach. I bought an Audiax 202 FM stereo transmitter (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Digiana-Audi...7944824&sr=8-1 and other places) and used that instead. Others will do the job but make sure it's a _stereo_ transmitter and it allows full tuning range (cheap ones have a few presets).
The transmitter and MP3 player are in the front centre arm rest. The power cable for the Audiax goes out of the bottom cable hole of the rest and into the rear cigarette lighter socket. Tune the Audiax to 106.1MHz (or whatever is quiet in your area), on your radio receiver create a preset to the same frequency and you're done. Great sound quality, no drilling/modifying and it's portable - take it with you to another car if needed.
