Scratches on Phantom Black Metallic paintwork

I've got a couple of light scratches on an Audi bonnet. Car is new and so a bit concerned to which polish to use to remove them. They look like cat or bird scratches,very light but noticeable at certain angles. I have an old bottle of Turtle Wax Safe Cut which I used a few years ago to remove some scuffs on an older vehicle. Just wondered if there is a newer more modern safer product that cuts out any risk to removing too much of the top clear coat and causing more noticeable damage ? Cheers for any advice.

There are more modern polishes and compounds on the market that are easier and cleaner to use but safety is in the hands of the user!

if you are attempting to rectify this by hand on modern clearcote you could be there a while,:(
without seeing the scratch our advice can only be limited as each scratch is different ie depths etc which presents different angles of attack needed to get the result.
menzerna polishes are good for correcting modern clears,ceramicotes but are best used via machine application with various pads etc, whilst hand polishing will achieve ok results if your technique is good you won't get as good results like you can with a machine.

One thing I will say is that you should try and avoid spot cleaning with an abrasive polish.
When I say spot cleaning, I mean dont be rubbing and rubbing on one small area as it could damage the paintwork, especially on dark coloured cars.

Thanks for advice. I managed to remove completely. Hard work and would not want to try it by hand on a large area. I used Meguairs ScratchX first and this only would shift very light scratches. Moved up to there Ultimate Compound and managed to fully remove. Was very impressed how both compunds quickly break down and evaporate safely on the clear coat.
