Have a look in there for someone local -VCDS User Location Map
I know that Chris (VW AUDI Forum - VWAF - adamss24 Profile page) is based in North London and is very clued up on the 2.5 TDI if that helps.
Have you sent Chris (adamss24) a PM?
Thanks sam but i thinks i must have p****d chris of as i have left him a few messages but not returning my calls so looks like it will be getting broken up for spares
What's up with the engine that you want it scanned?
You can get a cheap reader for a few quid from Halfords et al ( or an £10 e-bay lead and VCDS Lite) just for code reading if you can't get anybody to come around.
Hi
Best way to get a generic fault code read is to download the app called "torque pro" on to your phone (£2.75), go to e-bay and buy a bluetooth OBD diagnostic reader (about £11) and hey presto it will tell you of all the faults logged on your ECU. It will also let you clear them. It also gives you real time data for engine revs, coolant temperature, throttle position, turbo boost as well as loads of other stuff. I got the whole lot for less than £15 : money well spent in order to get it pointing you in the right direction. You can also use it for logging 0-60 times, G forces etc as it uses the inertial guidance thingymijigs in your phone.
