Hi. I have a 2005 1.9 tdi passat and I've got the Mass Airflow Sensor fault.
Firstly, can anyone recommend a cheaper place to purchase one from, other than the dreaded VW shop
Also, can anyone please tell me where it is situated under the bonnet and explain (Like I'm a 6 year old) how to go about it's replacement.

Found the offending item and it looks simple to replace . . . . any suggestions as to whether to go VAG or will a "Motor Factor Special" do just as well?

The always right Crasher says always go genuine on a MAF sensor. TPS is throttle position sensor

We all make mistakes that's why they put erasers on pencils :)
Replaced the MAF with a Bosch genuine part (In about 10 mins flat) but on test drive, the car still was "Limping". I took off the new MAF and fitted the old one back but left the electrical connection un-coupled and the car ran better! I then re-connected the electrics to the MAF and it ran as it should do, though I've still got "Emissions" error on the dash.Quote:
