Rear washer jet direction?
I am trying to eradicate several small issues on my amazing 97 B5 estate.
One of these issues was (as seen in another thread) that there seemed to be a break in the water pipe that supplies the rear wash wipe. I have managed to locate where the pipe had 'popped' off a joint in the nearside panel in the boot (above where the jack lives) and successfully refitted the pipe.
Only now I have noticed that when I activate the rear washer, the jet of water is directed at the floor, about a foot out on the nearside of the car.
Can this be adjusted? If yes, how?
Also, as I have a problem with the rear wiper (The rear wiper arm only occasionally moves about a 1/4 inch other times it wont move at all when activated), I am interested in opinions as to whether this is a factor in the issue discussed above.
Thanks to all who read & contribute,
Russ
Re: Rear washer jet direction?
You may get the wiper working if you stripdown and regrease the wiper gearbox, it sounds like it is trying to work but too stiff? The water is fed up through a hollow shaft to the jet, the jet should be able to be adjusted, but the shaft may have sheared off related to the first problem.
Re: Rear washer jet direction?
That sounds worth a try.
A job for the weekend!
Thanks for the info scotty!
