Re: Issues after egr delete
Failed thermostat, nothing to do with the EGR delete.

Ok,this is an easy cheap fix I believe?
thought the egr helped warm up the engine, takes forever to get to 70,like 15-20 mins at cruising.
so a new thermo will sort out all the above? Rough price n time please gents?

If it's anything like the 1.8T It is £80 for the stat and housing, and is quite involved to fix, not something recommended to a novice mechanic. (not saying you're a novice :) )
Re: Issues after egr delete
What engine do you have ? If it's a 1.9 Tdi then it's easy, if a v6 then it's behind the cambelt- sadly not a easy job to do !
Re: Issues after egr delete
Actually the action of EGR is to lower combustion chamber temperatures to reduce the levels of NOX emissions.
Re: Issues after egr delete
Ok so I've drilled a hole in my blank plate as som1 suggested this will remove the light.
no joy?
even if I go back to normal, do I still need fault cleared?
if it ain't broke don't fix it!!!
Re: Issues after egr delete
You will have to clear the code.
