2.0 TFSI - Dip in power - Service due
Hey all
Currently own a 2.0 petrol which is due a service (currently 37k) soon. However, last week when I got back into the car and drove home from work, the car felt like it lost 10-20% of its power when accelerating - which used to be sharp and reactive. Now its sluggish... like someone had block up the air intake. I have to put it into 3rd gear to get the performance that I used to get in 4th and so on...
Given the service is due soon, I am thinking that the car will jump back into life once its had a new air filter, spark plugs etc...
However, this drop in performance was very sudden so am slightly worried that it could be something else
Anyone else had this issue, or noticed a 'lift/improvement' in performance after a major service
Cheers

AFAIK They don't replace the air filter or plugs at 37000 miles - it's just an oil and oil filter change and a quick wipe over with an oily rag. If you're down on power then there's something wrong - ask the garage to check it out. Also, check your tyres are inflated properly - this makes quite a difference.

ohhh I though they did. They quoted me £400-odd for the 37k service.... so would expect a hell of a lot more that a quick replacement of the black oily stuff and a filter! lol

Yeah, I don think I'd be paying more than £190 for that TBH.
