Water ingress into VW Passat Boot

Just for the record - I discovered water in the left hand boot pocket and it took a lot of head scratching to discover where it was coming in. It was getting into the boot lid panel via a cloth gasket which covers a spare bolt hole near the LHS hinge. The water was then draining out through the boot locking mechanism and finding its way into the LH boot pocket. Good old silicone came to the rescue! Problem solved!
