Hi there,
I've had no real issues in the two and a half years I've had mine and passed 100,000 miles last night on the drive home from Devon. I drive the car every day averaging about 20,000 miles a year.
The only issue I have had with the engine was almost a couple of years ago now when I had a crack in the oil separator valve causing a vacuum leak - the noise was like a banshee and I thought the transmission was going to explode, less than £100 to fix.
Hope this helps,
AndyB
whats the MPG you get out of that one then? Or should I not ask? Just curious . It must be mental to drive
Hey Josh
On that size engine Audi claims the following 21.4mpg on the combined cycle...with a town figure of 14.5 and a touring consumption of 29.7mpg...
I personally think youd be very lucky to get anywhere near these figures and towing a fuel tanker might help ;)
Certainley am looking at an A8 / S8 for my next motor, but not at that size engine
I kept my petrol receipts for the first two years but never had the guts to work out the MPG accurately as if I did I would of have to add up how much I spend on fuel. An approximate idea is bad enough!
That said the DIS tells me I have averaged 22.9 MPG over the last 51,000 miles. I can get it up to average about 26 MPG on a steady run or down to 6.0 MPG (it does not go lower) if I'm really enjoying it, legally of course......
It's the only car I've ever had that on hard acceleration can make your stomach flip and it still gives me a stupid grin every time!
Only ever one car made my stomach flip and that was a bentley turbo
Even if dual fuel is not fix the Somalian pirates maybe able to help...
Nissan GTR/Skyline@600BHP... the sound of that accelerating through tunnel is like formula 1 cars @ take-off from starting line...
No disrespect by above comments ukandyb if I had ££ they RS6 or S6 Avant is the way for me...:biggthump
Thanks for all the replies.
I'm almost certain I'll go for it. Not this year but lets hope for next one :)
And I'll probably keep my 1.9TDI. Never had a car with so little problems :P
