skin moisturisers as leather protector???
Just a random thought..has anyone tried, or know of anyone who has tried any kind of skin moisturiser as leather protector/softener/replenisher?
If not, with all the automotive leather products available at premium prices, does this sound like a reasonable idea since leather is just basically..skin?

I wouldn't. It's an express train to a shine better than Captain Mainwaring's boots...
Hide is basically skin, but leather has gone through the tanning process. Handcreams are formulated to closely mimic skin's natural oils; leather cleaners/conditioners are formulated to remove skin sweat and oils, whilst replenishing the tanning oils.

Pity you can't use it, my wife has 645 different brands of moisturiser under the bathroom sink and a few around it, on the window sill, dressing table...

...and no need to use any of them because you have an endless supply of used sump oil?
