New timing belt kit.

Engine has just turned 75k miles and the timing belt is looking to be replaced. A local garage quoted me £350 for the replacement which includes the complete kit. (Water pump etc).
Anyway, while i accept this is something which needs doing and the cost is reasonable, im a bit apprehensive of the fact that the front end bumper has to be removed to get to it, to complete this replacement. Will a local garage have this knowledge after removing the bodypanels to replace them back to the same neat and tidy gaps that i have at present before it gets removed?
Or should i bite the bullet and go to a dealer? (Havent a clue what they would charge though, any ideas? Its a 2007 2.0 TDI 140).

and that doesn't include a waterpump either! I think it was another £130 for the waterpump! I did manage to get the waterpump down to £90 but they wouldn't budge on the £429 for the cambelt as the labour has already been discounted!

It will go back together spot on, any alignment issues will be down to sloppy work or if the clips and catches break and they cant be bothered or think you wont fork out for replacements. Its difficult to put it back wrong.

Thanks Paul, thats quite reassuring! It was just a horrible thought of rattles from it after being badly back together. Local garage it is then!

Yes, i think the OEM from the local garage will do nicely! Its expensive enough without dealerships hiked prices as well for labour! Thx for advice
