3TDi goes into limp home with 'Fuel regulation fault'
The car has had a EGR low flow fault for a year but never caused an issue other than logging a fault code, but the new fault or faults have gradually got worse and bring on the flashing glow plug and putting the car in limp home, needing an engine off and back on to return to normal. The main fault is a 'fuel regulation' fault though can also get a fuel pressure fault (cannot remember the actual wording). This started off occuring once a month but it's now happenning daily. :1zhelp:
Re: 3TDi goes into limp home with 'Fuel regulation fault'
would start with changing fuel filter - dead easy on a 3.0 tdi. could be a lot of 'jelly' in there. The EGR fault is probably a blocked crankcase breather of solenoid that diverts exhaust gasses.
Re: 3TDi goes into limp home with 'Fuel regulation fault'
Cheap fix and has been in for 3 years. I have already opened bleed screw a fraction on filter to see if any air in but seemed ok.
On old 1.9 I have blocked off the EGR with a plate, can you also do this with the V6TDi.
PS. Also noticed it only seems to trip out when I ask for full throttle and even then not all the time.
Re: 3TDi goes into limp home with 'Fuel regulation fault'
then I'd go for the MAF - they always go at some stage and give random symptoms
Re: 3TDi goes into limp home with 'Fuel regulation fault'
Find it hard to believe a fuel filter has stopped the limp home issue but so far after 10days with new filter I have had no issues. Cannot believe the sensors that pick up this fault are that sensitive. Just need to sort the EGR low flow issue that also comes up regularily but doesn't seem to cause any running problems.. .
Thanks again :)
