Head Gasket blown - is it worth fixing?
Hiya,
I've got an Audi A3 1.6, R Reg, 90,000 miles, full service history, and a very tidy car. And the other day the head gasket blew - white smoke from the exhaust and chocolate sludge in the oil. Do you think it's worth replacing?
I've just had a quote for £960 to fix everything. Gulp. Maybe I should invest that money in a newer car.... I use the car everyday, doing mainly short distances locally to different places.
Thanks for any advice!

I'd say fix it but that's just me, I'll keep flogging my dead horse around till it's legs fall off! If you do get it done though change your cambelt and water pump while you're at it, it's well due at that mileage.

Yes, thanks. I need to find out if the quote includes the cambelt and anything else. I'll also check for the water pump.

Ok, the price includes both the cambelt and water pump.
