Hi, looking for some advise pls

I have just brought a 51 plate A3 1.6 sport, it seems like a very nice car

I checked out all the milage 120000 and has all the audi service history and the timing belt and pump has just been done, i checked it over checked all the electrics worked and the display wasn't losing any pixels, but completely forgot to check the fan and heater :o, it was only when i was driving home i turned the hot air on and nothing came out i've tried it on cold air from the vent, the top and the feet settings and nothing

Also the temperature stays at the bottom 60 when i'm driving and starts to creep up to 90 when i'm idle not sure if this is anything to do with the fan problem and dont really know where to start.

Has anyone else come across this problem before or can give me some advise as to where to even start looking :D

If it was on the way home you I would've turned straight round and took it back, was it from a dealer?

Firstly check the fuse for the heater if it's not blowing at all and the temperature could just be a tired thermostat, not too difficult to change.

Do you mean the fan doesnt blow at all, or that it does blow - but doesnt blow out hot air? Your post isn't clear. Does it blow on any of the speed settings?

I'd change the thermostat as well, that should cure the temp issue and get it back upto 90 where it should be.

Hi, thanks for the responses, i brought the car privately so it was a bit late to return.

The fan doesn't blow at all, it wont turn on on any setting hot or cold, i'll try and change the fuses at the weekend to see if that helps, i also brought a new thermostat and temp sensor now that i'm going to try to replace so fingers crossed i'll have all the problems sorted :D

Thanks for the advice and i'll post the results of how i get on, any ideas on what the fan problem might be if its not the fuses?
