Changing my 2001 Audi Concert for a Non Audi Head Unit - Advice please

hi all,

my 2001 Audi Concert 1 stereo (Cassette) has popped it's clogs... and I want to change to a non Audi head unit with CD and USB. Can someone please advise what the easiest option is? (any brand)

I have the tools to remove my current stereo, just wondered if any manufacturers have the same fittings / plugs in the back.. (is it as easy as popping in to Argos, picking up a new stereo and plugging it in..?) or is it not that simple..? if not, what do I need to buy..and from where..?

Hi, you'll have to buy the relevant adaptor/cables to fit your new head unit. Best thing to do is choose a head unit, find it online and then use the sites (most good sites have them) fitting tool that shows you which extras you'll need to fit your chosen head unit to your car.

Other than that if you buy from Halfords I think they'll fit for free.

but even with the correct adaptors you will probably find that the rear speakers are very quiet compared to the front ones

hi all, so the Argos fitter - has said he will not come out until I can confirm if the fitted stereo is FULL or HALF BOSE. How can I tell..? it does not say Bose on it anywhere, so no idea.. apparently they have differnt wiring into the back..?? thanks in advance
