Re: need a map sensor for 1.9tdi quattro
If yours is the 110 afn engine, the map sensor should be on the black pipe that
runs along the back of the engine and the rh side of the head.

Up to 97 it is located inside the ECU and I have not been able to source these but then again their failure is not common although on of my lads has the same car and his keeps registering as faulty. We have been trying to find out who makes them so we can solder in a new one.
Re: need a map sensor for 1.9tdi quattro
yeah its definately in the ecu the newer models have it on the pipe at the back of the engine bay, ive got the part number bosch 0273 003 210 but cant find it for sale anywhere, how long you been lookin crasher?

Re: need a map sensor for 1.9tdi quattro
damn discontinued in 2007 no wander i cant find one thanks for finding that info, itl have to be a second hand ecu then unless another company make them doubt it tho
Re: need a map sensor for 1.9tdi quattro
Might want to double check the thin pipe that runs from the pipe at the back of the block to the ECU. Mine had been rubbing against another pipe and eventually produced a hole which gave me limp mode at high revs (same error code). In my case I only found it by doing a low pressure boost leak test. Fortunately I could cut the section out as it was near where it entered a rubber hose.
Re: need a map sensor for 1.9tdi quattro
I was just talking to Matt my mechanic and he says that since he put a crimp on the end of the pipe and cut a frayed section off, it has not done it.
Re: need a map sensor for 1.9tdi quattro
just got my car sorted no more limp mode! yay. wasnt the map sensor after all but the n75 valve or whatever you call it at the front of the engine bay by the vacuum ball, got 1 from the scrappy and cured it instantly
