Retrofit RNS-E questions - different ones this times!

I now have had a look at the adapter and all seems OK regarding connections to bluetooth/phone prep etc. One question still remains, the adapter has the BOSE cable attached and I don't have BOSE fitted, do I need to cut the wire and 'cap it off' so to speak?

Second question, does anybody have or could somebody trace/make a template (with some dimensions for reference) for the double din climate control unit? I cannot afford to pay stupid money for a double din equivalent (so I am going to cut the climate control down to fit - bites nail!!!) and I know I can make the template myself, but would prefer to get the exact size/curve of the edges right! I just need it from the bottom of the actual fascia (not including the aluminium bit) to the bottom of the RNS-E or full face (again not including the aluminium bit) if it's from a car with a Symphony fitted.
