Buying a car: AA Inspection or VW Inspection
Looking to buy a car (about £5k), but as i know nothing about cars, the wife wants to have an AA Inspection which cost £200. A couple of cars we've bought previously have been resprayed. I think VW offer a similar kind of service, but not sure if it's as detailed.
Looking for recommendations from people who've used either or both services previously.
All opinions welcomed.
Re: Buying a car: AA Inspection or VW Inspection
It used to be said that an AA inspection would save you the price they charge. This of course assumes that the seller is willing to negotiate on any faults found.
£5k isn't going to buy you anything in the first flush of youth and if you are not very car savvy an inspection might be a very good idea. It could save you buying a dog. Beware an inspection provided by the vendor and lean toward something independant.
