mpg

hi all,
now im just curious as to what other people are getting in real world mpg .
ive a 2ltdi 143 avant sline 2010 .i seem to get no more than 44-45 mpg on a run and 38 running about . ive only done 3500 mls so maybe needs a few miles to loosen up

I've had my 2.0 143PS S-Line since Xmas eve and done roughly 1200 miles.

The MPG varies, but the 'long cycle' (number 2 on the trip computer) it suggests 42mpg, and last week on a decent run, the day-to-day cycle was telling me 52mpg.

However I must say I've been taking it steady so I guess these numbers are towards the better side of the economy scale.

My previous car, 2007 Passat 2.0 (140ps) Tdi would do 38mpg round town, and when I hammered it, but if I was on a run being sensible I'd get 50ish mpg.

I guess we'll only get to know the true MPG when we've got 10k miles on the clock.

39.5mpg averaged over 14.5k miles (143 bhp Manual S-Line Avant) v's 41.7 displayed on the trip. Also on my 3rd litre of oil.

56k on my 143 TDi S Line Avant manual.

Overall mpg on the 2nd trip is 45.5 (and I have used it for towing a large caravan too so thats impressive)

Average per trip is 49-54mpg.

Can't get through from service to service (20k) without about half a litre of oil though.

Mine does mid 40's on the commute to work (mainly dual A roads), but on longer runs on motorways upper 30's. It's not great economy, but I love it.

My 2.0TFSi has used 4 gallons of oil in 65K over the last 18mth! Even Halfords charge £50 a pop. MMM

My 2nd trip computer is 40.5mpg over 6000 miles.

run back from Huddersfield to Aberdeen ......... 41mpg

sitting at not ridiculous but not saying on here speeds (was only really overtaken by BMWs - funny old thing)

in a 3.0 TDI :beerchug:

did see 5mpg on the computer at one point tho :biglaugh:
