EPB motor

Hi folks,

Just been trying to sort my cousins electronic parking brake on her 2005 Passat 2.0 TDi. Earlier on this year the passenger side motor would not release, so after much tinkering, I found the connection on the motor itself was corroded so cleaned it up and hey presto all was fine.

The same thing just happened to the drivers side so I thought the same treatment would do, but no, that would be too easy. When I tried a voltage through the motor all I could hear was a click (when I tried that on the other side I could get the motor to wind one way and the other fine). Took the motor off and found a crack in the casing at the bottom and you could see that water had got in. (unwound the PB manually and left it like that, car is drivable, with beeping!)

My q is can you buy the motor on its own? Anywhere apart from a dealers? And how much ££???

You can buy the motor on its own from a dealer. Never heard of anyone else having one.
Its about £200 from the dealer.
