Cleaning the Maf

Ive been meaning to get a new Maf for ages now, but never had the spare £60 odd VW wanted.

Is it safe to use some normal carb cleaner on the maf for a "temp" fix, the Carb cleaner was bough from halford ages ago, and it normal brand stuff.

Would this be safe to use until I can get hold of a new Maf from V Dub?

yes you can do this. It works in the short term but usually means your maf is on the way out.

Aye, I'll be getting one end of the month it's just until then, carb cleaner it is.
