Re: A4 3.0 V6 engine misfiring - codes
That could be coil packs 2 and 6 but I have had this on these engines when the cam timing adjuster valves fail.
Re: A4 3.0 V6 engine misfiring - codes
Cheers Crasher, I'm guessing 2 coil packs going would be beter than cam timing adjuster valves failing?
Is there an easy way of checking the coil packs? And which ones are cylinders 2 and 6 (probably very stupid question but apologies)
Also, if it is the cam timing adjusted valves going, what sort of job/cost will this be?
Thanks again mate
Re: A4 3.0 V6 engine misfiring - codes
Yes but the cam timing adjuster valves are easy to change if VAG UK have any stock. They are around £80 each and are bolted in through the cam covers, quite an easy job to do.
Re: A4 3.0 V6 engine misfiring - codes
Cheers again Crasher, is there an easy way of seeing if its the coil packs, or the cam timing adjusters?
Re: A4 3.0 V6 engine misfiring - codes
Not an easy one, it is down to experience and lots of time studying measuring blocks.
