Re: Heater Fan Speed Problem
Do a search, there's been a lot about it on here - it's an easy fix.
Re: Heater Fan Speed Problem
The fan resistor pack is behind the glovebox. The thermal fuse on the resistor pack has failed. Complete resistor pack is about £20. The fuse costs about £2 from maplin and can be soldered on in 10 minutes.

Good to see they've fallen in price, last time I needed one for an Omega and they wanted £135 for the part alone, I ended up yanking a fuse each time in the end.
Re: Heater Fan Speed Problem
Thanks for that. I'll try and get the resister pack. Main Dearler again I suppose. Thanks for your help.
Re: Heater Fan Speed Problem
Changed the fan resister pack. £31 from from main dealer. Worked for 2 days and packed in again. Obviously something is causing it to go. Any suggestions. I don't want to buy another untill I've solved the cause. Probably buy the fuse this time and solder it on myself .
Re: Heater Fan Speed Problem
Has it gone back to only speed 4 working. If it has, the thermal fuse has failed again. This means the resistor pack is overheating. Most likely cause for this is poor airflow which usually means the blower is not spinning correctly. Pop the blower out and have a look. It's only held in by a plastic catch.
Re: Heater Fan Speed Problem
Yes it is back to speed 4 only. I got the resister pack out by pulling it out from below, without removing the glove box. (one of those genuine 5 minutes jobs) Can I similarly remove the blower without removing the glove box.
Thanks
Re: Heater Fan Speed Problem
I think blower will come out with glovebox in place.
