    • Elegant fastback and Shooting Brake get powerful R variants with 320 PS, 420 Nm for 0-62 mph in 4.9 seconds
    • Luxury meets dynamism, as avant-garde models benefit from 4MOTION with R-Performance torque vectoring on a new rear axle
    • Latest models to receive the dynamic R treatment priced from £51,615 (fastback) and £52,435 (Shooting Brake) RRP OTR

The Volkswagen Arteon R and Arteon Shooting Brake R are available to order for UK customers today, with the striking high-performance fastback and Shooting Brake models priced from £51,615 and £52,435 OTR respectively. Both are powered by Volkswagen’s acclaimed 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine, providing 320 PS and 420 Nm of torque, and feature the latest 4MOTION all-wheel drive system, with R-Performance torque vectoring providing next-level handling and dynamics.

The Arteon R joins the growing stable of potent R models, with performance befitting the badge – for both bodystyles the 0-62 mph sprint passes in just 4.9 seconds, before topping out at an electronically limited 155 mph (where permitted). The handling of the Arteon R is as impressive as the numbers too, with 4MOTION all-wheel drive augmented for optimum handling and dynamism by the R-Performance torque vectoring system.

The torque vectoring system, first seen on the new Golf R, works by its ability to share power not only between the front and rear axles, but between each rear wheel too. Up to 50% of the Arteon R’s drive force can be sent to the rear axle, and this rear-axle power can be directed entirely to the outside rear wheel when cornering, virtually ...

    • CUPRA Design Director, Jorge Diez previews the distinctive design of CUPRA Born
    • New images of vehicle show more of the vehicle, including rear, ahead of reveal on 25 May
    • The city of Barcelona inspired the design of CUPRA’s first all-electric car

Ahead of the global unveiling of the CUPRA Born, head of design, Jorge Diez, explains the inspiration behind the design and the key features that make Born so unique.
“Designing CUPRA’s first 100 per cent electric car has been a dream come true for the team,” said Diez, as he explained the key to its design.

    Balance of its proportions

CUPRA Born is defined by two key pillars. First, the wheels are pushed to the corners of the vehicle to accommodate the batteries. “This enabled us to create a totally occupant-centric design with a very spacious interior” he says. Meanwhile, the proportions have also been worked on to give it a highly sporty look. “This is reflected in an extremely fast A-pillar combined with a long wheelbase and short front and rear overhang, which will make driving the first 100 per cent electric CUPRA truly fun” adds Diez.

    CUPRA character

Born’s front end is a perfect reflection of its attitude, explained Diez: “The headlights identify with a person’s face, so we’ve angled them a little more than usual to express the character and determination of knowing what you want and going for it. The character is further accentuated by the prominent air intake at the bottom of the car to keep the car close to the road.”

A landmark transformation plan for Lamborghini’s sustainability path: from product electrification to the Sant’Agata Bolognese site

    • Top product performance: the absolute priority throughout the entire electrification program
    • Roadmap incorporates celebration of the combustion engine and the range’s hybrid transition by 2024
    • Internal target defined: 50% less product CO2 emissions by the beginning of 2025
    • The largest investment in Lamborghini’s history: more than 1.5 billion euros over four years
    • Vision of a fourth fully-electric model in the second part of the decade

Stephan Winkelmann, President and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini, today presents “Direzione Cor Tauri” (Towards Cor Tauri): a roadmap to decarbonization of future Lamborghini models and of the Sant’Agata Bolognese site based on a holistic approach to its environmental sustainability strategy. Throughout the product electrification process, Lamborghini will focus continually on identifying technologies and solutions that guarantee top performance and driving dynamics in keeping with the marque’s tradition. In reference to the logo chosen by company founder Ferruccio Lamborghini in 1963, Cor Tauri is the brightest star in the Taurus constellation, and represents Lamborghini’s move towards a future that is electrified but always faithful to the heart and soul of the ‘bull’ brand.

Winkelmann commented: “Lamborghini’s electrification plan is a newly-plotted course, necessary in the context of a radically-changing world, where we want to make our contribution by ...

    • The new livery of the Hypermotard 950 SP recalls the world of racing in its colours and that of freestyle sports in its graphic lines, underlining the dynamic character of the bike
    • All models in the Ducati Hypermotard 950 range become compliant with the Euro 5 anti-pollution standard
    • The production of the motorcycles, which will be available in dealerships starting from June 2021, has already begun in Borgo Panigale

Borgo Panigale (Bologna, Italy), 19 May 2021 - The Ducati Hypermotard 950 family is updated for the Model Year 2022 and sees the entry into the range of a new livery for the SP version. All models become compliant with Euro 5 anti-pollution regulations* and will be available in Ducati network dealers starting from June 2021.

The Borgo Panigale fun-bike family consists of three models: Hypermotard 950, Hypermotard 950 RVE and Hypermotard 950 SP. Three different choices, which allow the rider both to have fun in curves and to easily tackle city traffic with all the safety offered by Ducati’s sophisticated electronic equipment.

The design of the Hypermotard 950 is inspired by the look of motards and revolves around the twin under-seat exhaust and the reduced superstructures that leave the mechanical components visible, including the trellis rear frame that communicates lightness and essentiality. The ergonomics of the bike, also derived from the motard world, ensure a riding position with an upright torso and wide elbows which translates into a great vehicle control, while the flat seat guarantees the possibility of wide longitudinal movements. ...

A suitable remap could see that spec at 250ps safely, any more than that will be too much for front wheel drive and a 02J box.
