    Oh it gets better. The car only had 2500 miles on in and was 18 months old. I asked for a print out of the service record and it showed the initial service

    Yes at least overnight. May take several sessions to get it clear. If you have a wet vacuum try and use that to suck out as much water as possible

    I have tried using a small dehumidifier for a short time, but nothing is being drawn out of the carpet/underlay. Maybe try a dehumidifier overnight ?

    If you are able to park the car off the road you could try leaving a dehumidifier or carpet snail running in the car to help dry the carpet sound deadening
