Volkswagen unveils high value ACTIVE trim for multiple key models in UK line-up

• Generously appointed new special edition ACTIVE trim is offered on Polo, T-Cross, T-Roc, T-Roc Cabriolet, Golf and Tiguan
• Appealing new specification sits above the established Match, SE, Design or Life trims, depending on model line
• Highlights, depending on model, include unique ACTIVE styling features; bespoke alloy wheels; upgraded infotainment and more

Volkswagen is today revealing details of an enticing new trim level that is being added to a number of its key models in the UK. The freshly minted ACTIVE trim sits above the familiar Match, SE, Design or Life equipment lines – depending on model – and includes a thoughtful selection of styling and equipment upgrades on Polo, T-Cross, T-Roc, T-Roc Cabriolet, Golf and Tiguan.

The new trim level, available with a wide variety of engine and gearbox combinations across the six models, is designed to drive further value and style into the model lines in which it features, with an array of carefully judged equipment upgrades and a selection of distinctive design additions.

The precise details of the ACTIVE trim vary by model, but all bar the T-Cross feature versions of the attractive new ‘Galway’ alloy wheel, offered in 15- to 18-inch diameters depending on model; bespoke ACTIVE badging on the ‘B’ pillar, or side fender for the T-Roc Cabriolet; door sills bearing the ACTIVE designation; bespoke ‘ACTIVE’ seat cloth and ACTIVE logo light projection from beneath the door mirrors on the majority of models.

The beauty of the new ACTIVE trim level is more than skin deep, though, with a variety of important equipment upgrades rolled into the new model designation.

The new Polo ACTIVE, for instance, gains important specification upgrades over the Match trim that, if specified as options, would add £1,665 RRP to the car’s price tag – yet they arrive in the Polo ACTIVE for only a £700 RRP on-the-road price increase.

The additions to the standard-fit kit list for the Polo ACTIVE include: Discover media; winter pack; climate control; and carpet mats.

The new T-Cross ACTIVE has an enhanced specification over the SE trim with equipment that, if specified as options, would add £2,065 to the RRP yet as an ACTIVE model its price rises by only £500 RRP OTR. Among the T-Cross ACTIVE standard-fit equipment highlights are Discover navigation; Winter pack (including heated seats); parking sensors; privacy glass; and electric folding door mirrors.

The T-Roc ACTIVE is also positioned above the SE trim, with an additional equipment value of £2,160 RRP yet an on-the-road price rise of just £300 RRP. This, too, gains standard-fit Discover navigation; a winter pack (including heated seats); front fog lights; privacy glass; and an electrically operated tailgate.

Meanwhile the T-Roc Cabriolet ACTIVE gains valuable specification upgrades over the Design trim, with an additional equipment value of £975 RRP, yet the on-the-road price increases by only £200 RRP. Among the additions to this car are front fog lights; a winter pack (including heated seats); and keyless entry.

Volkswagen’s hugely popular Golf, roundly praised for its timeless combination of practicality and style, is also benefitting from the introduction of an ACTIVE trim level. Here, the new Golf ACTIVE is positioned above the Life trim, with an additional equipment value of £1,495 RRP yet only a £500 on-the-road price increase. The Golf ACTIVE gains a selection of high value extras including heated front seats; climate control; 30-colour ambient lighting; and carpet mats front and rear.

Finally, the new Tiguan ACTIVE gains enticing specification upgrades over the existing Life trim, with an additional equipment value of £1,730 RRP for only £500 RRP extra on-the-road. Highlights here include a winter pack (including heated front seats and heated steering wheel); driver profile; keyless entry including the addition of an electric tailgate; electric folding door mirrors; and ambient lighting.
