I ve noticed that the glow light doesn t always come up every time I start the engine?Is this normal ?is it supposed to do it every time or only at low temperatures?

This is normal, the VW system is temperature sensitive, plus the tdi rarely needs any "glow" untill you get to very low temperatures.
