Hello, I a have just taken delivery of a new A3 rag top which had less than 66 miles on the clock form the manufacturer.
I have driven it so far for 286 miles carefully and the tank has not dropped onto the three quarter full mark. The computer tells me at times I am getting upwards of 100mpg! I am astounded.
My main concern is how to "run-in" the engine correctly. A friend has said to warm the engine up and then drive it realy hard for several hundred miles to bed the piston rings in but this is totaly contrary to the manufacturers recommendations; which, advise taking things easy for upto 1500km.
As this is the first new car I have ever owned I would like to get things right for the future realiabilty and performance of the car and would be grateful for any comments/suggestions or experiences anyone may have on this matter - thanks.
